Food Art: Delicious succulent cakes will keep your guests guessing Art / Design

For succulent lovers who can’t get enough of these adorable plants, Indonesia-based food artist Ivenoven makes deliciously deceptive succulent cakes. Anyone can mistake them as being real, but these lush plants are actually made from butter. No, you can’t really decorate your house with these faux plant confections, but you can surely eat them to satisfy your sweet tooth.

These succulent desserts will keep your guests guessing until the first bite. Even when placed on the dining table, these petite cakes still manage to hide their secret identity. Ivenoven’s brilliant detailing makes these yummy treats doppelgangers to the thriving plants they resemble.

On her Facebook page, she has mentioned that “My baking passion and journey started one fine day when I was sneaking around in my godma’s house trying to look for her baking recipes.” She started taking orders for these succulent cakes from December 2013 and since then her bakery started growing to a small business along with 12 other talented bakers.

The succulent terrariums are made using butter, powdered sugar, food colors and some additional flavors. The result is realistic-looking succulent desserts that you don’t need to water – just tear them with your fork and enjoy sweet surprise in every bite. That’s a wonderful kind of gardening for any foodie. Isn’t it?

You can catch her wondrous succulent cakes on her Instagram or Facebook page. For now, check out the images of these drool-worthy confections below.
