Indian artist duo, Nayan Shrimali and Vaishali Chudasama, creates an intricate series of handcrafted paper cut portraits of some iconic personalities from cinema, history, as well as, mythology. Hailing from Ahmedabad, the largest city in the state of Gujarat, India, both these talented artists have been experimenting with paper cut art since last one year. The end results are absolutely pleasant and bear a close resemblance to some of the famous personalities.

To create a collection of celebrity portraits, they closely observed the finest details of a face and expression of a particular personality. After that, they recreate the same expressions using different layers of papers and colours. From Nikola Tesla to Leonardo Decaprio, they have created various iconic personalities using different pieces of paper. Moreover, Indian mythological character of Lord Shiva has also been created by the duo.

All the artworks are completely hand cut and hand-painted on paper with a paper cutting knife. Soon after proper arrangement and formation of a realistic face, acrylic colours are used to add perfection to each portrait. The different layers of paper are blended with perfect skin tone (using acrylics) to give depth and a tactile feeling to the artwork. This way each portrait appears more real to the viewer.

Besides these paper cut portraits, they also make handcrafted paper cut wearables such as pendants, stud earrings, and brooches.
