Vinyl records were mainly used for listening music long before the digital era of Mp3 players, iPods and downloaded music. Even today these vinyl discs exist but in form of artworks. Recently, we came across the brilliant work of artist Tereza Olivia, who turns old vinyl records into intricate art pieces.
Once while walking on a street she saw a small shop full of old vinyl discs. So, she decided to but a few of them to just hang on the wall. But later she thought of creating art out of them. For that, she started browsing on the internet and found the way to carve pictures onto the discs.
From Jamaican singer-songwriter/musician Bob Marley to American YouTube personality/filmmaker Casey Neisat, she has portrayed many famous personalities on recycled vinyl records. These artworks demonstrate that the recycled vinyl records do not need to go to waste, as it’s possible to convert them into recycled artwork.
Besides vinyl art pieces, she also makes some home decor things, jewellery, and takes photos of a DIY pinhole camera. Find out more about her work on her Facebook page.
